Get up close & personal with our friendly Highland Cattle!
During your photo session, you will have the opportunity to meet, pat, brush & cuddle the Highland cows. Each with their own unique personality, these gentle hairy cows are ready to make your photoshoot extra special.
Unique scenic location.
Lush pastures, pristine old-growth Eucalypt forests, the rustic dairy parlour and an ancient fig tree - all at the foot of the Lansdowne Escarpment.
The farm is located in Langley Vale, NSW - between Taree & Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast of NSW, only 10 minutes off the Pacific Highway. It is an easy two hour drive from Newcastle, and three hours from the northern edge of Sydney.

The Ultimate Highland Cattle Photoshoot Experience
This Experience is 1.5 hours of pure Highland cow magic, with every special moment captured by LySar Photography. You’ll meet, brush, feed and pat Highland cows, yearlings and calves, both on the lead and free in the paddock, with candid and posed photos throughout the unforgettable experience.
This package can be tailored for special occasions like proposals, weddings, maternity & family photos. Locations include lush pastures, the fig tree, waterlily dam, bluegum forest, and the dairy parlour.

What is the Koolah Creek Highland Cattle Experience? A truly unique opportunity to get up close & personal with our fluffy family of Highland cows! The Experience is offered as a private tour only to ensure it is personal and intimate, tailored to your own interests. It is modelled on the natural flow of taking our own friends & family through the farm to meet our Highlands. During your Experience you will have the opportunity to:
Befriend, brush & cuddle our friendliest Highlands in the shade of our beautiful old fig tree.
Meet our herd of breeding cows, learn each of their names, personalities & stories.
See our newest additions: the baby calves!
Throughout the Experience we will chat about how we care for our Highlands, preserve the heritage of the breed, and how they are helping to restore the land.

FAQ.
How do I book?
Fill out the ‘Photo Session Booking Requests’ form with your booking request.
We will then confirm the lovely ladies at LySar Photography are available on your requested date and time. Once we have confirmed the photographer’s availability, we will be in touch with payment details to confirm your booking.
A booking fee will be required to confirm your booking. Your session is not confirmed until we have received this payment.
Why can’t photo session packages be booked directly through the website? LySar Photography is a separate business to Koolah Creek and they have many other clients. To schedule a photo session, we must first confirm that their availability on your chosen date.
What is the location?
Koolah Creek is located between Taree & Port Macquarie on the New South Wales Mid North Coast, just 10 minutes off the Pacific Highway.
We are just two hours drive from Newcastle, and three hours from the northern edge of Sydney. We are also near other popular destinations on the Barrington Coast, such as Forster, Gloucester, Barrington Tops, & Seal Rocks.
After booking, we will send you detailed directions to the farm with your confirmation.
How do we receive the photos?
After your photoshoot, all images from your session will be edited by LySar Photography and then uploaded to your private, password-protected online gallery. From the gallery, you can select your choice of images for high-resolution download, and printing (the number of digital downloads and prints depends on your chosen photo package). The turnaround time for editing and digital album upload is 2-3 weeks. Additional digital downloads and prints from your photoshoot can be purchased from LySar Photography.
