Our Breeding Program

Since establishing Koolah Creek Highlands, we’ve been carefully selecting the very best Highlands for pedigree, temperament, sound structure and overall Highland breed character. We have collected a foundation herd of Highland females that we are very proud of!
We utilise artificial insemination (AI) and embryo transfer (ET) , which allows us to use the very best genetics from Australia and internationally, and accelerates our breeding program as we continue to grow our fold.

We are committed to upholding the highest standards for purebred Highland cattle, preserving the heritage of Highland Cattle, and improving the quality of the breed in Australia. Our stud cattle are all registered with the Australian Highland Cattle Society (AHCS). Our member number is 1394. We breed both Purebred (P) and Fully Imported Bloodline (FIB) registered stud stock.

We place a strong emphasis on selecting for exceptional quiet temperaments - the kind of cattle that are a pleasure to work with, and perfect for hobby farmers or those new to owning cattle. We also specialise in producing top quality Highlands for the show ring.
